Mint with its strong refreshing flavour adds an extra dimension to both sweet & savoury dishes. It is used in many dishes in the Middle East. Mint leaves have a delicate flavour and fragrance. Amongst the many varieties of mint family, the most popular is Spear Mint (Mentha spicata), often called garden mint, used in various culinary purposes. It is used widely in kitchens as a good accompaniment to chicken, pork, veal and to flavour salads, candy, chocolate and sauces, chutneys and stir fried vegetables and dishes like cold soups and fruit mixes.
